Your Privacy Rights Under CCPA

As a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Personal Information Is Not Sold

Personal information is not sold, rented, or shared for money or other valuable consideration.

Specifically, personal data is not:

• Sold to advertisers or third parties
• Shared with external marketing companies
• Monetized in any way

Your CCPA Rights

You have the right to:

1. Know What Data Information Collected

You can request to know what personal information is collected. Visit Account Settings → View My Data to see all data on file.

2. Delete Your Data

You can request deletion of your personal information. Go to Account Settings → Delete My Account to delete your account and all associated data.

3. Correct Your Data

You can update or correct your personal information anytime by editing your profile in Account Settings.

4. Export Your Data

You can request a copy of your data in a portable format. Use Account Settings → Download My Data to export as JSON.

5. Non-Discrimination

No discrimination will occur for exercising your CCPA rights. You will receive the same service and pricing whether or not you exercise these rights.

What Data Is Collected (NOT Sold)

The following information is collected and is NOT sold:

• Personal Data: Full name, email, age, gender, phone, avatar
• Professional Data: Role, training year, specialty, institution, work email
• Lifestyle Data: Smoking status, languages, sleep schedule (per trip)
• Preference Data: Roommate preferences, housing types, budget, gender preference for roommates, pet information
• Location Data: Home city/state, trip locations
• Interaction Data: Matches, messages, match requests, reports

How Your Information Is Used

Your information is used only for:

• Providing the roommate matching service
• Creating and managing your account
• Matching you with compatible roommates based on your preferences and lifestyle
• Communicating with you about matches and service updates
• Improving the service (analytics)
• Enforcing safety policies and investigating reports
• Legal compliance and security

Data Sharing

Your personal information is:

• NOT shared with advertisers
• NOT shared with data brokers
• Only shared with matched users (your contact info is only shared after a mutual match)
• Stored securely with MedRM provider (Supabase)

Submitting a Request

To submit a request to know, delete, or correct your data:

1. Log into your account and use Account Settings features (easiest)
2. Email [email protected] with your request

Requests will be responded to within 45 days as required by law.
